How your hot water
dispenser works
Water is electrically heated to a brew-
ing/cooking hot 190°F (88° C)* by a
compact tank that mounts under the
sink. A thermostat maintains it at this
approximate temperature. When you
push the valve lever, cold water enters
the bottom of the tank and forces hot
water out of the faucet. The system is
vented so the tank is not pressurized.
